Join Warren Ebert in the latest episode of his interview on Catherine Cashmore’s Land Cycle Investor. He discusses the evolving real estate market, highlighting significant sell-offs by major players, which are creating attractive buying opportunities. With billions in assets changing hands, Warren examines the impact on property valuations and market trends.
He also addresses the challenges of soaring construction costs and the feasibility of new developments, particularly in Brisbane. In contrast to Sydney and Melbourne, where large-scale speculative projects are common, Brisbane is seeing strong rental growth and lower vacancy rates, indicating a market resurgence.
“In a prime location, you need $1,400 per sqm rent to build something new at a 5.75% yield… but there’d be no buyers,” Mr. Ebert said. He predicts a shortage of high-grade buildings and a halt in new construction projects soon.
