Salvos Honour Warren Ebert
May 17, 2024
Sentinel Property Group CEO, Warren ‘The Property Whisperer’ Ebert, is being honoured today (Friday) by the Salvation Army to acknowledge his fundraising efforts as a major sponsor for the charity over more than a decade.
As he has done for many years, Ebert will host a table at this morning’s annual The Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal Queensland launch, a major event which each year draws luminaries from the political, legal and business world, including Queensland Governor, Dr Jeannette Young, to the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The event showcases the work of The Salvation Army and seeks the generous financial support of key businesses, philanthropists, donors, and community leaders across the state.
Ebert has a special place in his heart for the Salvos and has helped raise approaching $500,000 over the years, with Sentinel staff also regularly contributing donations to the charity.
“The Salvation Army help people grappling with homelessness, financial hardship, family and domestic violence, addiction, and many other challenges,” Ebert said.
“They assist people in need of a fresh start. It has meant a lot to me help the Salvos raise much needed funds for Australians in crisis. This is the 60th year of the Red Shield Appeal and it is happening during a particularly important time with the nation enduring a cost-of-living crisis.
“The Red Shield Appeal is one of my favourite charitable events. I have always respected the work of The Salvation Army. It is a non-denominational charity and will always help anyone with no judgment made.”
Prior to this morning’s launch breakfast, Ebert will be honoured and acknowledged for Sentinel’s generous donations to the charity.
The launch will also hear the testimonies of people helped by the Salvos and learn how the financial support boosts their vast network of social and community services.
The Salvation Army has walked alongside Australians for more than 140 years, providing shelter, safety and support to those in need. Over the last year, the Salvos assisted more than 250,000 people and dispensed financial assistance worth almost $25 million to Australians impacted by crisis, disaster and hardship.
The annual Red Shield Appeal doorknock will take place on May 25-26.
