Caneland Central Gets a Makeover

Major tenancies at Caneland Central shopping centre in Mackay have been getting a makeover, with RM Williams completing a full refurbishment to become only the second store in Queensland to receive the brand’s ‘New Concept’ fit out.

Caneland Central Centre Manager, Mark Farquhar said new tenants including bakery AIL Bakehouse, Tutti Frutti yogurt and Star Liquor had also come to the centre, which has undergone significant improvements from owner Sentinel Property Group.

Farquhar said besides the amazing new concept store experience for RM Williams, major refurbishments had been completed by QBD bookstore and Coffee Club, Woolworths new Direct to Boot, Priceline and Terry White chemists.

“It has been a while since we have seen so many stores undertaking refurbishments at Caneland Central, along with major improvements at the centre carried out by Sentinel,” he said.

“This is proving to be a very exciting year for the centre, with the new internal travelator project nearing completion.

“We expect the travelator will improve access to Level 1 retailers and the foodcourt, which in turn we hope will result in boosted sales for retailers, particularly on Level 1, including already strong performers, such as JB Hi Fi.”

“Our aim is to enhance the shopping centre experience by offering convenience, improved inclusivity, and accessibility. Tenants, shopping centre staff and customers are also benefitting from the $4.7 million solar roof installation provided by Sentinel.”

“Close to Woolworths we have Terry White doing an upgrade while Priceline are refurbishing their existing store with a new shopfront and all new internal fit out to bring the store their latest design.

“Works are also underway at Zambrero in the foodcourt and we are looking forward to Jamaica Blue completing a refurbishment in the coming month or so,” said Farquhar.
