Role Overview
As a Retail Leasing Executive, you will identify and assess prospective tenants, negotiate leases, and maintain tenant relationships. This role involves understanding the market landscape, adhering to leasing guidelines, and collaborating with various teams to ensure successful leasing outcomes. Reporting to the National Retail Asset Manager, you will provide financial input, accurate documentation, and timely reporting to support Sentinel Property Group’s strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate potential tenants, providing recommendations to the National Retail Asset Manager.
- Understand the market’s competitive landscape to target desirable tenants.
- Communicate regularly with current and prospective tenants to make informed recommendations.
- Negotiate vacancies, market reviews, and lease renewals for specialty retail spaces.
- Collaborate with the Property Management team to address leasing issues and identify opportunities.
- Develop and maintain strong tenant relationships to enhance the company’s market profile.
- Provide input into property budgets regarding rental levels, lease renewals, and market rent reviews.
- Assist in formulating and implementing leasing strategies for retail properties.
- Ensure all leasing documentation is accurately prepared and submitted on time.
- Draft Letters of Offer to Lease for approval.
- Provide regular reports on the leasing status of vacant tenancies and lease renewals.
- Maintain industry knowledge and benchmarks to achieve superior results.
- Ensure compliance with SPG Leasing guidelines and standard lease agreements.
- Collaborate with the tenancy coordination and project management teams on lease-related issues.
- Stay updated with lease legislation and real estate licensing regulations.
- Assist in maintaining up-to-date financial performance reports for monthly reporting.
- Adhere to all Sentinel leasing processes and follow up on all leads.
- Regularly inspect retail properties and provide feedback on standards.
- Evaluate retail assets from a tenant’s perspective to understand needs and preferences.
- Establish and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure the leasing team is prepared with all necessary materials for leasing inquiries.
- Contribute to team goals by achieving results efficiently and maintaining reasonable turnaround times.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with tenants and the broader team.
Are you someone with?
- Tertiary qualifications in property/leasing or a related field.
- Current leasing registration/certificate.
- Proven experience as a Leasing Executive within the retail and commercial property field.
- Demonstrated ability to secure leasing deals.
- Proficiency with MS Office platforms.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build rapport and maintain solid working relationships.
- Strong time management and organisational skills.
