As a Financial Accountant, you’ll work closely with the Senior Financial Accountant to manage critical financial operations, month-end processes, and statutory compliance. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Lead month-end and year-end close processes for corporate entities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Prepare comprehensive monthly board reports with detailed financial analysis and performance commentary
• Drive budgeting and forecasting activities, providing strategic insights for business planning
• Manage and optimize corporate cashflow, including monitoring cash positions and forecasting requirements
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax agents for financial statements, audits, and tax compliance
• Oversee and maintain corporate entities’ asset registers, ensuring accurate depreciation and asset tracking
• Ensure timely lodgement and compliance of all statutory requirements:
• Business Activity Statements (BAS)
• PAYG Withholding
• Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT)
• Superannuation obligations
• Payroll Tax
• WorkCover requirements
• Prepare and review complex account reconciliations
• Develop and maintain strong internal controls and accounting procedures
• Monitor and recommend improvements for financial systems and processes
• Assist with special projects and financial analysis as required
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives across the finance function
• Provide mentoring and guidance to junior team members when required
• Support ad hoc projects as directed by the Senior Financial Accountant and CFO
• Participate in the implementation and enhancement of accounting systems
• Assist in developing and maintaining financial policies and procedures

Are you someone with?

• Tertiary qualifications in finance and/or accounting
• CPA/CA qualification
• Previous experience in a similar role or first mover from audit
• Experience with accounting software such as Xero, Netsuite, Tech1, or Microsoft Dynamics
• Advanced Excel skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong relationship management capabilities
• Professional presentation and approach
